Want to make your own anamorphic lens? For all you DIY types we're now offering a 2 or 3 element anamorphic lens kit for your projector! The kit includes two glass prism elements with Broadband Anti-reflective coatings, an astigmatism corrector element with BBAR coatings (if you opt for the 3 element kit), a powder coated metal lens housing, mounting bracket, and related hardware needed to put it all together. The prisms will need to be positioned to produce the correct stretch factor, which can be done using your projector and a test pattern. Throw ratio compatiblity as low as 1.5 depending on projector. Pricing for the kits are as follows:
2 element kit: $625 plus shipping
3 element kit: $775 plus shipping
If you prefer, the prism elements can be purchased without the housing, bracket, and hardware for $450 plus shipping. All 3 elements can be purcahsed for $600 plus shipping. We have a limited number of CA correction elements which can be added to the prisms for $175 per pair. This is a clearance price on these expensive elements which cost much more than are being sold for. When the CA correction elements are added, chromatic abberations are eliminated and the throw ratio compatibility goes up somewhere above 2.0 which may or may not work with your chosen projector, throw distance and screen size. These are experimental elements and no guarantee of compatibilty is made. All sales are final.
